My ex boss asked me for password of my MSN (aka. Windows Live Messenger) today, (it’s also used as my primary email box contacting with my customers during the past years), before paying me salary of the last months, and, after my resignation for almost an entire month, when all of my customers’ goods were sent out (orders received before leaving his company) by myself.

I already gave this password to him, that’s say I lost control of this MSN/Email completely as from today, and, I will also have no connection with Tongda any longer, any more emails coming from the email address charles.peng@hotmail.com are not written by myself. (My name is Charles Peng). I will fully quit this business of buying/selling/trading transponder keys/key blanks/remote keys, etc.

Had been working in Tongda for almost 3 years, I was very tired and completely lost all my interests on keys. I am very much fed up with these items, and will not deal with it any more. I had a long rest for the last month, and will probably do the same thing continuously this month… I will have to make a decision where to work/what to sell after September. God bless me.

Elva Liang, a girl from Cangzhou, Hebei, met with me on a well-known Chinese foreign trading forum (FOB Business Forum) some days ago. She’s working in Zhongshan, Guangdong (hometown of Sun Yat-sen, father or founder of a Republic of China), added me to her buddies list on QQ (the largest instant messenger in China) when she saw my reply for a forum topic regarding how to look for someone’s MSN address as a sales newbie. We became to know each other then after we talked on the IM later on.

15th July was her date of birth, she asked me for a bunch of flowers as her birthday present, I agreed even though delayed 2 or 3 days as I know it’s very convenient to buy things on the net, I ordered the flower on Taobao.com (the largest C2C in the Chinese market), and the seller sent the flower to her office at 9am-10am in the morning on her birthday.

Honest speaking, this is my very 1st time that I sent a girl a flower, and I didn’t quite concern what flower to be given in what day… Thanks Taobao, its website webpages helped me a lot on locating and sorting out a birthday flower by filtering by some certain “conditions”.

15th July is also an important day for myself, because my company Hsiendai Co., Ltd was finally approved on that day, about 2 weeks after leaving my former company.

Banshee 1.5.3 发布，加入 Mac 支持

Banshee 是一个由 GTK 编写的，面向 Gnome 桌面的强大音频/视频媒体播放器和管理工具。近日开发者在博客中宣布正式发布 Banshee 1.5.3 版，并重新支持 Mac 操作系统。Banshee 由于 Novell 公司开发，它不单单是一个强大的媒体播放器，除了可以播放音乐而且还能够播放视频，更支持同步个人音频设备(如 iPod 和 Android 等)。

Banshee 1.5.3的新功能 该版本主要修正了老版本的一些 bug 并加入了一些激动人心的新功能：

播放列表加入设备同步选项
快速查找歌曲，艺术家和专辑列表
可选播放器左下角专辑封面
拖拽或右键菜单编辑专辑封面
歌曲管理扩展
歌曲库文件夹监视扩展
电子音乐导入/下载扩展

除了手动向可移动媒体播放器添加/删除文件外，Banshee 1.5.3 支持智能同步播放列表，允许你自定义要同步的歌曲文件的数量或文件大小，也可以根据播放列表中的歌曲种类智能同步（比如“播放次数最多”或者被标记成“收藏”的歌曲）。

此外，Rhythmbox 中监视歌曲文件夹的功能也被引入到 Banshee 1.5.3 中，在 Banshee 1.5.3 的扩展菜单中激活该功能之后，它可以自动监视你音乐文件夹，如果文件夹中被加入新的歌曲文件，或删除了文件，Banshee 都会自动更新。

Banshee 1.5.3 的 Clutterflow 插件 用过 Mac 的同学肯定对它的 cover flow 印象深刻，而通过插件，Banshee 也可以轻松实现该功能。

Clutterflow 的开发者最近刚刚发布了 Clutterflow 0.3.5 版本，新版本加入了如下特性：

Banshee 的查看菜单中加入了 Clutterflow 开关
Banshee 的首选项对话框中加入了 Clutterflow 选项页
通过鼠标点击并向某一方向“拖动”即可实现专辑封面滚动

首先你需要安装最新版本的 Banshee ，这不用多说，此外，你需要安装一些 Clutter 的图形库，教程请看这里，非本文的范畴，这里不介绍。

iPod/iTouch 及 Android 手机同步功能

Banshee 1.5.3 强化了个人手持设备的同步功能，并加入了对 Android 手机和系统的支持。当你插入你的 Android 设备的之后（如果你使用 Nexus One 手机请务必使用官方 Banshee PPA 将 Banshee 升级到最新版，如果 Ubuntu 官方源还没有提供 1.5.3 版），Banshee 会自动显示你 Android 手机上的歌曲和视频，如果你的歌曲是从 AmazonMP3 音乐商店购买而来，Banshee 会自动识别并提示你是否导入电脑上的专辑封面。

Banshee 可以同步你电脑上的歌曲到手机上，也支持同步你电脑上最新下载的 Podcast ，图片，或者播放列表到手机上。如果在 Banshee 中添加/删除了歌曲文件，那么下次插入 Android 手机后会提示你是否添加/删除那首歌曲。

Mac OS X 支持

Banshee 1.5.3 重新提供了对 Mac OS X 的支持，开发者彻底检查了之前的 Mac 版，不再受制于于 Mono 或 GTK 框架，依赖被打包成了二进制文件。

如果你使用 OS X 10.5 或者更新的版本的 Mac 操作系统（只限 Intel 处理器），你现在就可以下载并安装 Banshee 的 Mac 版了，再不需要安装依赖程序了。

总结

除了上面介绍的 Banshee 的功能，Banshee 现在有很多插件、扩展可供选择，支持 Last.FM ，支持 Podcast ，一旦拥有，别无所求。

这就是为什么下个版本的 Ubuntu 10.04 可能会抛弃 Rhythumbox 而选用 Banshee 的原因。

Turpial，Linux 下功能最强大的 Twitter 客户端来临

刚刚在 Google Reader 中阅读 Fedora Planet 最新文章的时候， Fedora Venezuela 上的一篇文章吸引了我的注意，没错，来自委内瑞拉的某位 Fedora 开发者 @satanas82 用 Python 开发了这个可以说是当前 Linux 下功能最为强大的原生 Twitter 客户端，相比我之前介绍的 Pino ，Turpial 的功能实在是太强悍了，因为一般的 Twitter 客户端所具备的功能，Turpial 都具备了！

Turpial 的最新版本是 0.9.3-a1 ，更新日志在这里，遗憾的是，这篇文章是用葡萄牙语或者西班牙语写成的，我看不懂其中的内容，不过下面的截图说明一切。之所以推荐 Turpial 给大家，倒不是因为 Linux 下没有功能强大的客户端，KDE 下的 Choqok ，Qwit 等都是不错的选择，但本人是 Gnome 的粉丝，我不喜欢在 Gnome 下运行 KDE 程序（界面太丑），Turpial 是 Gnome 原生程序。当然，如果你在 Linux 下一直使用网页客户端，或者使用 Adobe Air 程序，你可以关闭浏览器本博客的 Tab 了

右键点击好友的 Tweet 显示回复，锐推，和私信还有添加到收藏菜单，还可以直接 unfollow 此人。值得一提的是，Turpial 支持传统的和官方的两种 ReTweet 方式。

Turpial 的缩址功能，截图可以看出，它支持 is.gd ，Bit.ly ，Tinyurl.com 等常用缩址服务。

Turpial 是为 Fedora 开发的，正因为如此，开发者只提供了 Fedora 的 .rpm 包，最新版本 turpial-0.9.3-a1.fc12.src.rpm 你可以在 Turpial 的项目主页上下载到。但是对于 Ubuntu 等其它 Linux 版本用户来说，你同样可以在 Turpial 项目主页下载到最新的 turpial-0.9.3-a1.tar.gz 源代码，然后按照另外一位委内瑞拉 Ubuntu 美女用户的教程安装即可。

怎么说呢，Turpial 肯定是目前功能最强大的 Gnome 下的 Twitter 客户端了，这是毋庸置疑的，而且作者还在不断的开发和完善中，但对于中文推特用户来说，如果没有中文支持（我现在上班在 Windows XP 下，没有测试）和 Twitter API 支持，功能再强大也是白搭，除非你整天挂着 VPN ，对于 API 支持，可以联系作者让它加入此功能，当然，国内肯定有高手可以做一些 Hack ，这样 Turpial 就更完美了。

My PHP DropBox Gallery

Dropbox is a software that syncs your files online and across your computers. To be exactly speaking, it’s one of the world’s best online file sync and backup tool, with dozens of shinning features. Say, shen you register and install Dropbox cross-platform client, put your files in Dropbox special folder on your compter, those files will be instantly uploaded to Dropbox severs, and, they can also be downloaded to any other of your computers automatically that you had Dropbox client installed, no matter what operating systems they’re running.

Dropbox is great, gives you the freedom to work on any of your computers and always have the files you need. Let’s say you’re editing a document at home. As soon as you click ‘Save’, Dropbox will sync this same file to all your other computers (as well as your iPhone!) instantly and automatically. It’s as if you saved the document to all of your computers.

Dropbox has lots of other features to automatically backup your files and keep files synced between computers too, it also enables you share files easily with your friends and colleagues on Dropbox website, here’s Dropbox tour which you can learn all it’s features how to sync your files and store your files securely.

Besides all these things I am talking above, Dropbox officially posted some Tips and Tricks as well as some add-ons on their wiki, which give you the ability to use Dropbox services efficiently and creatively. You can visit those pages yourself and look for a way how to use Dropbox in different situations better. Well, after I saw their add-ons page I found a great trick to turn Dropbox into a powerful online photo gallery site. Ah, yes, Dropbox is so powerfull to do anything which you can hardly imagine.

See those screenshots above, this is a cool and full-featured photo gallery, right? Please do not doubt, it was built by myself, using My PHP DropBox Gallery php script, all those photos in the screenshots are stored in my own Dropbox account in Dropbox severs.

To generate your own photo gallery on your own web sever is easy, register a Dropbox account (skip this step if you already have one), creat a folder in your “Photos” directory of your dropbox and upload all your photo files there which you want to share with others, and then download PHP Dropbox Gallery scripts here, decompress it, and rename the file “config.example.php” to “config.php” which located in “upload/gallery” directory, change its content to meet your situations. And at last, upload all the files in the “upload” directory to your own web sever, that’s it.

Pino, 一个 Linux 下简易的 Twitter 客户端

虽然 Twitter 世界中不乏面向推特高级用户优秀的，功能全面的的客户端，但它们都不是我，这个简单的 Twitter 用户，所要找的。

我是一个习惯了“简单”的 Twitter 用户，我需要简单的东西。在我寻找一个简单的 Twitter 客户端的过程中，我找到了 Pino ，一个简单，高速，正在开发状态的 Twitter 客户端，使用 Vala 语言编写。

我需要的客户端要如此简单：

必须速度快
界面必须简洁
应该有删除，回复，和锐推的功能
将提到(mentions)，私信(direct messages)和锐推(Retweets)分开显示
整合搜索功能
必须是 Linux 原生程序，拒绝 Adobe Air 。

即便我所列出的必备“功能”和我的需求想差甚远，但所有我知道的 Twitter 客户端中，还没有一个可以胜任并完全达到我的要求。

开启 Pino

当你第一次运行 Pino 的时候，登录过程简单明了，没有烦死人的 Twitter 登陆选项和创建新用户向导… Pino 登陆界面有两个 Tab 页来更改更新时间间隔，切换通知状态开启还是关闭，显示 Twitter 好友头像是否圆角。

注意

如果你收到的推特消息里面没有显示发送者的头像，在 “首选项” 菜单的“外观”选项卡中禁用圆角，就好了。

状态窗口默认是影藏的。要添加新消息，点击铅笔图标，状态窗口会从 Pino 底部冒出来。没有提交按钮，输入完新消息按回车即可。

所有别人的消息会显示在他们各自头像的右侧。你自己的消息显示在你自己的头像的右侧。对单条消息来说，现在只能使用的选项是删除和回复，还没有锐推的选项。

当你发布一条新消息之后，在系统托盘 Pino 图标所在的地方会显示一个绿色的圆圈，也会显示一个通知气泡窗口。

Pino 自己的图标也值得记录一下，一般的 Twitter 客户端都使用官方的图标或者使用一只小鸟的图案作为自己图标，而 Pino 则是一个动漫小男孩穿着打扮成小猫一样的衣服的图标。

总结

Pino 是一个伟大的 Twitter 客户端，符合一个简单的推特用户的需求（比如我），暂时，Pino 还不能提单 Twitter 网站网页版，还有很多重要的功能需要被加进来，比如：

没有锐推支持
没有选项更改默认消息数量
没有专门的私信和锐推独立 Tab 页
没有多账号支持
没有搜索功能
没有单独消息的“快速档案”查看功能

一旦这些缺少的功能被添加进来，我将很可能会使用 Pino 作为我的默认 Twitter 客户端。

如果你想试用 Pino ，那么按我下面介绍的步骤。首先添加“ppa:troorl/pino”软件源，接下来安装 Pino 软件即可。

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:troorl/pino && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install pino

Meiga for Fedora 11/12 来了

Meiga 是 Linux 下的一款便捷分享文件的小软件，如果你有多台电脑并且安装了不同的操作系统，用这款软件传文件十分方便。我曾经介绍过，不过那时候开发者只提供 Ubuntu 的 .deb 安装文件及源代码，现在好了，终于有人搞出来 Fedora 11/12 的 .rpm 安装文件了，你可以到 Meiga 的官方网站获取（Ubuntu 9.10 的 .deb 也已经就绪）

13 个致命的 Linux 命令

本文收集所有你不能在 Linux 下执行的命令，执行任何下列命令（之一）会让你丢失数据或造成数据损坏，冻结或挂起你运行中的 Linux 系统。

千万不要在 Linux 文本界面运行下列命令！ NEVER RUN THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS IN LINUX BOX CLI!

即使有人在论坛或者即时聊天工具中建议你这么做。

1. 以下这些命令会擦出你整个 /home 分区中的所有内容，root 分区甚至是你整个硬盘。

sudo rm -rf /
rm -rf .*
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda
mkfs.ext3 /dev/hda
whatever > /dev/hda

2. 会导致内核 (Kernel) 受损，或者冻结你的 Linux 系统。

在 Fedora 12 下安装 Gnome-shell

Fedora 软件仓库中现在有 Gnome-shell 的早期开发版本，Gnome-shell 是 Gnome 3.0 的关键部分，目前正在由 Fedora 开发者和交互设计师一起经络密鼓的开发中，在 Fedora 12 下尝试 Gnome-shell 最简单的办法就是安装 desktop-effects 软件包。

yum install desktop-effects gnome-shell

安装完成之后进入系统/首选项/桌面特效

如果你想手动设置 Gnome-shell ，执行下列命令：

mkdir ~/.config/autostart

ln -s /usr/share/applications/gnome-shell.desktop ~/.config/autostart

你也可以直接执行下列命令

gnome-shell --replace &
